International Travel and Migration: June 2008
Highlights
- Visitor arrivals (142,400) were down 2 percent from June 2007 (145,500).
- There were more visitors from Australia (up 1,200), but fewer from the United States (down 1,800), China (down 1,600) and Korea (down 1,300).
- New Zealand resident departures (186,000) were down 11 percent from June 2007 (208,300).
- There were fewer trips by New Zealand residents to Australia (down 12,900) and the United Kingdom (down 1,600).
- Permanent and long-term arrivals exceeded departures by 500 on a seasonally adjusted basis.
