The purpose of the Biotechnology Survey is to collect information on the use, production and spread of biotechnology in New Zealand. It measures the size of the biotechnology sector and identifies barriers to research and development so that a better understanding of this emerging industry can be gained.
Please note: The Biotechnology Survey has been replaced and expanded on by Statistics New Zealand's Bioscience Survey 2009. The change was carried out to provide more and better information on a wider range of technologies and builds upon and encompassing biotechnology.
